Edinburgh
Stuff we have seen and done:
- Obviously walk through this beautiful city where you see amazing architecture, shopping and enjoy the many shops and restaurants and the occasional busker singing or listen to the haunting melodies of the bagpipes.
- Edinburgh Castle – the view from the castle is great and the grounds have an open plan to it so wear sturdy shoes.
- Jupiter Artland (May – September) – enjoy wonderful green spaces or hidden walks through the trees located just outside the city centre.
- Dean Village – Bordering the Water of Leith and just a few minutes from the local favourite Stockbridge, Dean Village boasts some of the most spectacular architecture and is one of Edinburgh’s best kept secrets. Follow the peaceful path along the water’s edge and towards the west of the city, admiring the distinctive sandstone mills and stylish Tudor revivals en route.
- Dr Neil’s Garden
- National Museum of Scotland
- St Giles’ Cathedral – Victorian stained glass windows and Gothic style stonework.
Things to Know:
- If you can access the Historic Scotland Pass then that pass gets you into a lot of sites.
