Lisbon

Stuff we have seen and done: I must say that it wasn’t my favourite place, Portugal and NB: avoid sleeping within the toll roads – big ticket price on exit.

  • St George’s Castle – there is a lot of walking around and up, especially upwards walking towards castles but though I enjoyed this castle, it wasn’t my favourite.
  • Listen to Fado – usually in pubs and cafes
  • Museums & strolls around the cobblestone streets and have some paella.
  • Explore the art and architecture from the gothic to the historical.
  • Tour Tour Tour – these countries are best on tour if Portugese is not a language of yours. I prefer bus tours.

Things to Know:

  • They don’t have a huge interest outside of tourists spots if you are a foreigner.
  • Be careful and cover your belongings.
  • Avoid talking about religion, politics and colonial wars.
  • Portugese do not have a lot of money so don’t flaunt it or walk around too proud, it could cause trouble with locals depending on where you travel.
