Nottingham:

• Sherwood Forest: History: Take a bike ride through the woods to the famous Major Oak, where in folklore Robin Hood and his Merry Men sheltered
• Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem: History: According to legend, the pub was used as a refreshment stop for crusaders heading to Jerusalem in the 12th century. Some accounts even have knights, under the direction of King Richard the Lionheart, casually stopping by the pub for ale before heading out to fight the saracens, and whoever else got in their path

• Park Tunnel: History: The tunnel was built in 1855 as the main access to an exclusive Victorian residential area, though thanks to a mistake, things did not end as planned

• Church Cemetary: History: Underground Victorian cemetary may give you the shivers, this one also boasts a possible Druidic temple, a former hangman’s gallow, and caves where Robin Hood is said to have stabled his horses. Church Cemetary was founded in 1851 on a barren hillside formerly used as a quarry and a place of public execution. Built to accommodate the expanding deceased population in a growing town.

• The Caves of Nottingham: History: Over 800 caves, tunnels, and passages cut into the sandstone rock lurk beneath the city. The Caves were dug for many reasons: as storerooms, brewhouses, and public houses; as prisons and dungeons; and in more recent history, as air raid shelters during the Nottingham Blitz

• Lovers’ Bridge: History: Begun in 2014 by a couple who didn’t want to have to travel all the way to France to make a gesture of romance, and so began a popular tradition for lovers since.

Do: Visit and leave a padlock on the bridge, and create your own romantic memory. It’s super fun and a great date night.
