Waterloo

Stuff we have seen and done:

• Waterloo Battlefield – fought on 18 Junc, 1815 between Napoleon’s forces and a coalition of forces including England. This marks the end of the Napoleonic Wars. Interesting Note: It took a coalition to defeat Napoleon, whereas Napoleon led only his French forces.

• Hougoumont Farm: History Bite: This farm stands right in the middle of what was once the battlefield of Waterloo. Hougoumont was a key defensive positon for the British, and its successful defense played a significant role in the outcome of the battle. Securing it, would have allowed Napoleon to outflank the Allies.
